Our Team

The Vehicle Protection Association (VPA) is composed of industry members including marketers, administrators, payment processing companies, insurers, and software providers.

The organization is professionally managed by Chris Carenza, M.A., J.D. He is a former assistant attorney general for the state of Missouri, where he also served as the director of the state’s Do-Not-Call Unit. Under Carenza’s guidance, the Missouri Do-Not-Call Unit was named the No. 1 program in the United States by the Federal Trade Commission in 2009 for having the fewest complaints per capita of any such program.

Helen MacMurray, the former Chief of the Consumer Protection Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s office serves as legal advisor. She has worked with several industry groups dealing with issues similar to those facing the automotive service contracts industry and will be in charge of managing the activities of the VPA's new Consumer Protection Working Group.
